This weekend was exciting for me, as I was reminded why I have developed such a strong passion for the Great Gatsby: somewhere in the radiant, masterfully concocted world that Fitzgerald built, there is some metaphor that I have not recognized yet; and it is this type of artistry, this suffocating stranglehold Fitzgerald has on his prose that keeps me coming back to the novel. Given that fact, I believe it is accurate to infer that in that moment, for Jay Gatsby, time stopped; life as he knew it without Daisy suddenly ceased to exist, and it was time to start a new life, built on rekindled love and the ability to be with Daisy.
As readers we know for Gatsby, it was not enough for Daisy to simply leave Tom and start a life with him: it was necessary for Daisy to dismiss her marriage with Tom and act as if the last 5 years never happened. However, what makes this scene so exciting is that I think it represents something completely different for the reader.

Green is one of the colors in The Great Gatsby that conveys symbolic meaning. It's important that this light is green, as green is the color of the "new money" that Jay now has and hopes will help him win Daisy's love. The enormous mansion that Gatsby purchases with his newly gained wealth symbolizes the extravagance of the Jazz Age along with its emptiness.

Nick lives next door to Gatsby. Gatsby is so determined to get Daisy back in his life that he moves to West Egg, a town next to New York City, to be near her. One reason that Gatsby's dream is never accomplished is because his wealth takes over his integrity.
He believes that he can become anything he wants to be and remove his past, which he successfully does. Jay Gatsby is not his real name, but James Gatz is. He did not want people to know that he was in fact James Gatz from North Dakota, whose parents were unsuccessful farmers.

Cosette and Marius meet and they confess their love for each other Hugo Jean Valjean does not approve of this realationship, but eventually gives in. Cosette and Marius get in engaged Hugo and they get married a few months later Hugo , Jean Valjean leave the wedding early. A few weeks later Jean Valjean tells Marius everything, all his secrets and Marius decied its best for him not to see Cosette Hugo Daisy is leaving Tom to be with Jay.
After losing their connection once, they decide to be together again.
